Perdika (Fortress)

General Information

Near the village of Perdika, in the southwest area of Aegina, the Fortress was built before World War II. When the Germans invaded the island, they took advantage of all the places of interest - so, they set up an observatory in Perdika in order to monitor the Saronic Gulf.

Where is it located?

The naval fortresses of Aegina are located on the southwest side of the island. The fortresses are located just 11 km from the port of the island. Access to the space is easy and fast. By car, the journey is estimated at just twenty minutes. 

Characteristics of the place

The space creates awe. Despite the fact that so many years have passed since the creation of the Fortress, the area is very well maintained. Guests take a short trip back in time. They can feel the tension and anxiety of the soldiers of that difficult period. Serenity is one of the elements that characterize the space. 

When can I visit the place? 

With the right weather conditions, you can visit the Fortress at all hours of the day. Sunset is the best time to visit Fortress , where the sun's rays reflect on the naval fort.
