The Temple of Apollo in Aegina (Kolona) is one of the most important sights on the island. In the area of Kolona, which was once the religious and political centre of the island, stood the archaic temple of the god Apollo. The temple's 8-meter-high column is still standing today.

The archaeological site of the Temple of Apollo (Kolona) is on the northwest side of the island and is less than 1 km away from the port of Aegina. You can easily reach the archaeological site on foot in just 10 minutes from the city of Aegina.

The Temple of Apollo, like the Temple of Aphaia in Aegina, is built next to a pine forest and on a hill overlooking the sea. According to information, the Temple of Apollo, which once dominated the hill, was of Doric style. The temple consisted of 11 columns in length and 6 in width, while on the pediments of the temple were depicted scenes from the famous Amazonian battles.
