General Information
The Historical and Folklore Museum is housed in a neoclassical building, which was built in 1828. The building was damaged after the earthquake of 1981. The repairs were completed by the association “Friends of the Folklore Museum of Aegina”. From October 2007 the museum houses a rare collection of historical and traditional objects and important documents.
Where is it located?
The museum is located in the heart of the city. It is only 750 km away from the port of Aegina. The access is easy.
Characteristics of the museum
On the first floor, the visitor will meet the Urban Aeginian house. The room includes relics of the family of Panagis Iriotis. Also, the visitor can see furniture, paintings, traditional and urban costumes. On the ground floor, you will see the village house. There the visitor will find everyday items, textiles, agricultural tools, fishing equipment, etc.
When can I visit the place?
The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday. The cost of admission is 2 euros.
